Can you describe briefly what you are doing with your pupils/students to integrate mindfulness in your educational work?

Our pupils have two periods of 10 minutes of meditation in the morning and afternoon. They are encouraged to use a mantra focussed on 'Om' or 'Pure, Perfect, Free, Forever.' Every lesson begins and ends with the same 'pause' to recapture the earlier period of meditation.

What is it that would be most helpful to you to (further) improve your work with integrating mindfulness in your educational work, besides deepening your own practice?

I think it would be wonderful to share what we do with other schools. It would also be great to learn from other schools. There is a great need in the UK to defend and protect the spiritual realm within education.

Have you noticed or heard of any changes in the behaviour of your pupils/students?


What is the nature of the changes you have noticed in the behaviour of your pupils/students?

Improved class room behaviour, improved behaviour in the family situation, improved behaviour outside the school environment.The power of attention, being able to stand and speak from their hearts.

What is the base of the mindfulness practise you are using in your educational work?

Buddhist based.
